Ronald P. Weidner
Cofounder & Chief Executive Officer
A visionary and serial entrepreneur, Ron brings over 30 years of experience in building and managing large scale cross-border lending, investment and asset management platforms. Prior to founding emPower, Ron was the Global Chief Investment Officer at Allianz, overseeing the restructuring and expansion of its $ 30 billion real estate investment and lending platforms. During his tenure with Allianz, he founded Greenprint, a non-profit initiative led by leading financial institutions and investors committed to tracking, benchmarking and improving the environmental and carbon performance of their real estate portfolios. Today, Greenprint tracks over 1 billion square feet of properties in over 50 countries. Prior to joining Allianz, he was the co-founder and managing partner of WestWind Capital Partners, a real estate private equity firm which invested in and managed over $ 5 billion in commercial assets in major gateway cities in the US and Europe prior to being sold in 2006. Earlier in his career, Ron held various senior positions with Hypovereinsbank and Commerzbank building and overseeing corporate and real estate lending platforms in the US.
Cofounder & Chief Operating Officer
Gustav Hoyer has been involved in technology on nearly every level for twenty years. He has been a developer, project manager, architect, consultant and executive in technology roles in global leaders such as the Cleveland Clinic, CIGNA, Toyota Financial Services, Sony, NetApp, RE/MAX, and Red Robin. He brings deep technical insight trained with years of imagining and implementing technology together with the persuasive skills and tools of an experienced consultant. His most recent entrepreneurial efforts were as the CEO and technology lead for MyChoiceMD, a startup that developed a rich technology platform designed to empower self-pay patients to find, choose, and engage with medical providers offering upfront pricing and significant discounts. MyChoiceMD was merged into emPower.
Chief Data Officer
Ron has over 25 years of experience in the design, development, and management of large scale management information services (MIS). During his tenure with Deutsche Bank, he was responsible for the design and implementation of and underwriting of investments for the bank’s Building Retrofit Fund. Prior to that, he directed and designed their global Environmental MIS, integrated with utility bill processing, print services, travel, metering systems, lease administration, and occupancy data and oversaw annual audit and verification of database. He implemented 900+ retrofit projects generating annual savings of $ 70 million and 120 MW. Ron also led the design, procurement, and product Greenprint’s MIS and provided technical direction for software application development, database design, and quality assurance systems.
Chief People Officer
Leah brings over 25 years experience in the field of human resources, executive management and benefits administration. Leah has served in various HR related roles at Isuzu Technical Center, CareAmerica, Clinishare Home Health and Orion Healthcorp. More recently, she has worked as a consultant for several companies, including the non-profit Volunteers of America in Los Angeles and Arbor Pharmaceuticals. Leah is specialized in talent acquisition, labor law compliance, and benefits administration.
Dr. Daniel L. Cohen, MD. FRCPCH (UK), FAAP
International Medical Director, Datix Ltd
Dr. Daniel L. Cohen is a senior healthcare executive with extensive experience in leadership and medical management. He currently serves as the International Medical Director at Datix. Prior to Datix, Dr. Cohen was Chief Medical Officer and Executive Medical Director for the United States Department of Defense (DoD) health plan, which now provides healthcare services for over 9.4 million beneficiaries worldwide with a budget exceeding US $45 billion. During his time at the DoD, Dr. Cohen provided senior level counsel for the organisation’s patient safety, clinical quality assessment, population health, and medical management programs.
Founding Partner, Aeris Capital
George is a founding partner of Aeris Capital AG. He has over 30 years of experience as a lawyer and executive in international licensing, technology transfer, and investment and privatization transactions in the US, Europe and Asia. George has held board or observer positions in numerous transformational healthcare companies, including Crescendo Biosciences, Adamas Pharmaceuticals, and Ion Torrent, Inc. Currently, from a base in Northern California, George continues to manage the aeris Life Science portfolio and serves as a director of GenomeDx Inc., PFS Genetics, Butterfly Networks, LAM Therapeutics Inc., Solstice Biosciences, G2i and Jiff Inc. He received his BSFS from Georgetown University, and a JD from the University of California, Hastings College of Law in parallel to graduate studies in City Planning at the College of Environmental Design, UC Berkeley and served as graduate assistant at the Earl Warren Legal Institute, UC Berkeley, Boalt Hall.
Dr. Kent Bradley
Founder, BTN Advisors
Kent brings over 30 years of experience in the healthcare sector ranging from advising on and managing corporate healthcare and benefits programs to overseeing and managing hospitals in the US military. He is the founder of BTN Advisors, an Executive Director of Coreveritas and a Member of the Board of Directors of Dignity Health. He was the Chief Medical Officer of Safeway, leading the company’s wellness and healthcare efforts for their 180,000 employees. He also served as the President of Safeway Health, a subsidiary that helps other companies manage and lower their employee healthcare costs. Prior to joining Safeway, Kent was a partner at Martin, Blanck & Associates, a healthcare services consulting firm. Kent is a retired US Army Colonel, who last served in Iraq as deputy commander overseeing 4 hospitals and a staff of 2,500 people.
Former Head of IT, Northrop Grumman
Phil brings over 30 years of years of experience in the fields of information technology, project management and business development supporting companies in the financial services and aerospace industry and the public sector. During his 25 tenure with Northrup Grumman and American Express, he developed expertise in the design and implementation of large scale complex financial networks, systems and software applications, and data centers.
Senior Managing Director, Tishman Speyer
Paul Galiano is the Senior Managing Director at TIshman Speyer, one of the leading owners, developers, operators, and managers of first-class real estate in the world. He is jointly responsible for supervising and coordinating Tishman Speyer’s acquisition program throughout the United States, as well as its global dispositions, equity capital and joint-venture programs.
Furthermore, he is a member of the company’s Executive, Investment, and Management committees. He was formerly the firm’s Chief Financial Officer, responsible for Tishman Speyer’s worldwide financial activities, and previously held the position of Treasurer, having begun his tenure working on tax strategies. Prior to joining the company in 1993, Mr. Galiano was with Arthur Andersen & Co. for seven years, where he specialized in real estate taxation. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute and serves on the Board of Directors of Marymount Manhattan College. He is also the Chairman for the Better Business Bureau.
